Freightworks in Dubai and TransGlobal in the United Kingdom have been co-operating
on the trade lane for almost 15 years. During this period the companies have consistently
offered LCL groupage services on a weekly basis from all UK main points and currently
offer airfreight consolidation services 5 times per week. As leading service providers

buying power with both airlines and shipping lines.
Freightworks (Dubai Express LLC) is one of Dubai’s oldest independent Freight
Forwarder catering to the industry since it’s inception in 1975. Freightworks is
a Joint Venture organisation between the shareholders of Emirate/ DNATA Group, Govt.
of Dubai and Kanoo Group (one of the pioneers in the Shipping, Forwarding and Air
Travel and Trading industries since +130 years).

30 Years of Co-operation!
Comprehensive International Freight Forwarders (CIFF) is a long time partner of Trans Global with cooperation on oceanfreight activities going back almost 30 years. The sole owner and Managing Director of CIFF Mr. Klaus Engelmann in fact has links to our Group, having worked for Comprehensive Shipping Limited in the UK from 1968 - 1972 before taking up the job of first General Manager of CIFF in April 1972 (see our history). CIFF has its headquarters in Hong Kong and operates from 8 offices in mainland China and Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam. The total group employs about 110 people.
Active in both Sea and Airfreight, CIFF has expertise in warehousing, cargo logistics, cargo consolidation and project shipments. CIFF are accredited IATA agents and members of both FIATA and HAFFA.CIFF has been ISO9002:1994 certificated since 11th January 1996 and revised ISO9001:2000 certificated on 5th September 2003.

Heading 2nd London Marathon
Debbie Appleyard completed her 2nd London Marathon on Sunday 26th April. Debbie ran the Marathon in 5 hours 9 minutes which is an improvement on her previous year by 5 minutes. Debbie who works in the Deep Sea Import Department at Dartford Head Office, has been with the Company 12 years. She started with the Company as a receptionist at the Dartford site, and is now handling rates and quotation enquiries for overseas partners. This year Debbie was raising funds for Demelza House - a new children’s hospice being built locally to the Dartford office and through sponsorship was able to raise almost £400 for this very good cause.
Well done Debbie from all at Trans Global for all the hard training and dedication you have given to the event.
Singapore Delegate
William Koh commenced with Trans Global on 1st October 2008 and is our first delegate to be based in the commercial hub of Singapore. William worked in the travel and airline industry for 13 years, before moving into his career in freight forwarding in 1984. During that time William held a number of senior positions with both Singaporean and multinational companies, mainly in the area of sales and marketing and business development.
William opted for early retirement from his previous position at the end August 2008, but decided life was too quiet! He accepted the position with Trans Global as Regional Development Manager for South East Asia. This enabled him to utilise his qualifications which includes a Diploma in Sales & Marketing from the Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS) and a Diploma in Marketing from the Institute of Marketing, UK (IMUK).
Outside of work, William is a firm believer of work-home life balance. He keeps himself healthy by going for regular workouts at the gym, going for brisk walks, trekking and swimming, William also enjoys travelling and driving holidays. Other pastimes include reading widely, both fiction and non-fiction, and keeping abreast of world news and events. William has been married to Del for 36 years and they have three grown up Children.
New Swiss Service
Two of the oldest names in the freight industry namely Trans Global in the UK
and MAT Transport AG in Switzerland have entered into an agreement to work
in partnership for the UK/Switzerland/UK route.
The new collaboration commences as from the 1st September 2009 with 2-3 departures per week in each direction.

Intermodal in Brazil

Trans Global acquire Transtar
September the 10th
The Directors are delighted to announce that we have today completed the acquisition of
Transtar Freight Forwarders Limited.
Transtar are a long established forwarder based in Sheffield.
The previous Owners and Directors – Lee Bolsover and Jayne Wilkinson have joined the TG Group and will continue to manage the Sheffield operation.
Transtar have a high quality client base in the region, and also operate their own warehouse and fleet of 4 vehicles from their base adjacent to the M1 motorway.
Twelve other staff members are employed offering the full range of multi-modal options to their clients.
In due course this will provide Trans Global with coverage to the east of the Pennines and additional support to our consolidation services.
